Tolson's Community Action & Fellowship Cup

Sponsored by our Deacons

Our church collects food and other household essentials during the months of May and November.  A shopping cart and empty shopping bags are made available by the church entrance. On each sack is a list of suggested items that each pantry needs.

God has blessed us in many ways, so in turn we

enjoy sharing our blessings with others.

Fellowship Cup
The Fellowship Cup gave around 200 food baskets to people around Thanksgiving time.  Baskets contained a booklet of recipes and all of the ingredients needed to make the recipes. For Christmas similar food baskets were given to about 225 families. Through the Angel Tree at Wal-mart, about 383 children  received Christmas gifts.
The Fellowship Cup Food Pantry is available at any time and individuals and families can utilize the Pantry every 60 days.   We average 150 people per week using our clothing ministry.
Our new construction is scheduled to be completed around the end of February.  We are excited about our upcoming move and all of the programs that we will be able to provide once we are settled in.  Our hours are Monday - Friday 9 AM - 3PM.  We welcome the community to donate and shop our clothing ministry.

Tolson Community Action Program
Tolson Community Action Program (CAP) provides a
multitude of services to Henry County Residents and more than 900 families are served by its various programs.  Grateful families sometimes come back and help others.
There are two levels of the Head Start Programs:  Regular part-day Head Start for 4 and 5 year olds and Early Head Start for children ages 8 weeks - 3 years and pregnant moms.  CAP offers childcare referrals to homes licensed for childcare.  CAP has a food program to assist the childcare providers.  It also provides training in CPR, first aid, etc. for childcare providers and parenting classes for parents.
Anyone, regardless of income, can purchase food boxes at the cost of the food, plus donating two hours of service. Rebates on rent are available to disabled people and senior citizens aged 60 and older, who meet income guidelines.
CAP also has an energy program for those who qualify, according to income guidelines.  This includes weatherization of windows and foundations of homes. The Community Action Food Pantry receives donations and support from the Community.
