Thank You, Thank You, Thanks!
Spring is always fast paced and full of important days. The last six weeks or so have definitely lived up to that standard. I don't expect things to slow down much in May! There's certainly no time to tarry and dawdle during these busy days.
In the last month or so, we've organized a Variety Show, led a Youth Sunday worship service, hosted multiple confirmation activities, and made the final preparations for our Kids Against Hunger Drive. To parents who kept kids on track, you certainly deserve more than a nutshell's worth of praise! Also, thanks to those who provided the meals to keep us going, from ordering in to mixing pesky lemonade!
Weird Words
You may have noticed, I'm speaking a different dialect this month and there's a reason for it! In this Youth ALERT the names of nine of our youth are hidden! See if you can find these names: Alec, Amber, Amelia, Chabal, Ellsworth, Eric, Kyle, Melissa and Ryan.
Ignore spaces & punctuation. Present your finished puzzle to Jenn at Press On to receive a candy bar of your choice. This is a first come, first serve contest. (Just to avoid any game liabilities or confusion?)
Variety Show
Thank you to everyone who came to support our youth by attending our Variety Show Fundraiser! The show ran just short of an hour and included a wide variety of entertainment! A BIG THANKS goes out to our special guests, Adam Creager, Jim DePriest, and Meredith Frasier for volunteering their time and talents for our endeavor. In all, our youth have raised over $640 dollars for Kids Against Hunger. With the money they are donating individually, we expect to sponsor a team and a half of youth. That equates to 3,000 of the rice/soy meals.
Youth Sunday
Each year our youth spend several weeks preparing, practicing, and piecing together our Youth Sunday service. This year we had three seniors who were able and willing to share with us. In addition, we had wonderful participation from our high school and middle school youth. Thank you very much to our youth and to their parents, who took the time to be involved in this special event. You all have a lot to be proud of! It is wonderful to see you share your talents with the rest of our church community.

Do you like cream, berries, and chocolate syrup? How about brownies, or those little chocolate mocha balls? Let Jenn know so she can get supplies for this yummy evening of treats!

The final preparations have begun for the Kids Against Hunger Packaging Day with a total of six teams. While this is great news, there are still lots of jobs to be done on the day of this event. Volunteer sign up forms can be found in the hallway for anyone who would like to participate. We need people to load and unload the truck, register groups, cleanup, and keep the refreshments stocked! If you'd like to participate or donate some refresh-ments on May 10, please be sure to sign up in the hallway! Any help is greatly appreciated!
Camp Wyoming!
If you are hoping to attend Camp Wyoming this summer, please don't forget to register early! Each camp can only host a certain number of youth. Spots can fill up early for favored camps! Brochures and scholarship applications are available in the office. Also, please don't forget that the Scholarship deadline is June 1st!
